The Southern School of Natural Therapies (SSNT) prioritises investments that will improve the experiences of the student body. Funds are directed into the facilities to ensure that they are continually upgraded and provide a best-practice learning environment for complementary and alternative medicine.
This commitment ensures that as the school grows, the facilities are further developed to meet the evolving needs of our community and take advantage of emerging technologies.
The School is committed to providing the highest standard of teaching, enhanced by high-quality clinic and recreational facilities for our students and the community at large. Feedback from staff and students is welcome, as the school actively benchmarks with comparable institutions to inform the development of its services.
There is a strong commitment to sustainable business practices and the environment, and the school has adopted a 'green' philosophy. A dedicated Green Team of staff and students provide leadership in sustainability initiatives, inspiring greener choices in all aspects of campus life, while academic staff raise sustainability issues in each course's curriculum.
The Student Services team at SSNT provides a range of academic, administrative and support services to assist students throughout their education. Any queries regarding enrolments or fees, recognition of prior learning or submitting an assignment, accessing counseling or receiving adjustments for a disability or medical condition can be directed to the team.
Students may find they need assistance in balancing study, family and work commitments, to manage incidents or issues that arise during their course, or in coping with stress, anxiety or depression.
In line with the SSNT's approach to holistic health care, it provides confidential, free of charge counselling for issues relating to:
- Personal, relationship and family concerns
- Exams, assignments, or academic progress
- Stress, grief and loss
The counsellors are graduate students from Cairnmillar's Master of Psychotherapy program, who are completing a supervised internship. The Cairnmillar Institute is one of Melbourne's most highly regarded providers of psychological services and professional education.
The Southern School of Natural Therapies Alumni offers graduates an opportunity to network and collaborate with other members of the natural therapies community. By joining the Alumni after graduation, students can stay in touch, access resources and contacts, obtain library membership, and participate in ongoing professional development opportunities.
